About

We are a registered charity and exist to:

  1. Help adults 18 and over of Berwickshire in the Scottish Borders & North Northumberland overcome their debt problems through the provision of local, free, face to face money advice services delivered within a Christian ethos of kindness and compassion
  2. Support clients gain control over their finances by working towards resolving debt issues and achieving financial stability through facilitated negotiation with creditors, assessing benefit eligibility, assistance in acquisition of budgeting and money management skills
  3. Equip churches and other community groups to be able to assist people with problematic debt and give them a real hope for the future


Tweedside Debt Advice is affiliated to the national charity Community Money Advice (CMA) and operates with the authorisation of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) authorisation. Our 'Connect Centre' supports clients through trained  'Money Mentors' to be able to access free debt advice from fully qualified CMA Hub Advisers.
